Now Live: The Julia Bradbury Podcast

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Julia Bradbury Podcast

In partnership with Randox Health

Julia Bradbury’s fascination with health began when she faced a breast cancer diagnosis five years ago. An award winning documentary and two best selling books later and Julia is nestling in behind the microphone for a brand new podcast.

“I’m sitting down with an intriguing cohort of guests who are sharing incredible knowledge, groundbreaking research in the health and medical space.” says Julia

“As someone who’s looked a cancer diagnosis in the eye, I’ve become fascinated by what is going on inside our bodies, years or even decades before the symptoms get noisy. I’ve been discovering what can we do to balance our bodies and minds to build happy lives, protect ourselves and reduce our risks. Along the way I’ve met the change-makers in this space – and sharing their stories, work and results that many people won’t have even heard of yet, is a privilege. I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to sit down with them and ask the questions I want answered myself.”

The Julia Bradbury Podcast sees the broadcaster and No.1 Sunday Times bestselling author talk with doctors, scientists, health experts, innovators and patients, exploring what’s happening around the medical world now and how treatments may change in the future because of their work.

Launching 23 September 2026 the podcast is a natural next chapter to Julia’s No. 1 Sunday Times bestseller Hack Yourself Healthy, which followed her efforts to understand the lifestyle choices, behaviours and health markers that may support long-term wellbeing.

Across the series, Julia explores what may be happening long before illness becomes obvious, while asking what individuals can realistically learn about, monitor and influence, when it comes to their own health. Rather than offering simple answers or chasing the latest wellness trend, the podcast gives experts space to explain the science, discuss uncertainty and explore what their work could mean in everyday life.

Series One opens with two episodes on launch day. In the first, Julia meets Dr Monisha Bhanote, a quintuple board-certified (five times qualified in the USA) doctor who studies health at a cellular level. In their conversation Julia and Monisha discuss the small cellular changes that take place with the condition associated with reflux, Barrett’s oesophagus, which an estimated 400-500,000 people are diagnosed with in the UK. Monisha explains how these cellular changes can lead to a cancer diagnosis, which isn’t commonly talked about. Bhanote’s own recovery following a serious head injury is an extraordinary story and a warning bell for anyone who’s suffered a head trauma because of a sports injury or an accident. The second episode features paediatric neuroendocrinologist Professor Robert Lustig, who argues that chronic disease needs to be understood through the lens of ‘metabolic health’. He explains what this is and talks Julia through why eating an orange and drinking orange juice are not the same thing! He’s an expert on the impact that refined sugar has on our bodies and believes it should have the same warning labels as alcohol. He also states it’s ‘a crime that the NHS doesn’t test for one thing, as standard practice’.

Later in the series, Julia speaks to neurologist Dr Ray Dorsey about environmental research into Parkinson’s disease which Dr Dorsey claims is a man made disease, that can be eliminated; period and hormone expert Dr Lara Briden talks Julia through about ovulation, perimenopause, endometriosis, PCOS and iron; and Dr Hariharan Kuhan a western trained oncologist explains why he felt he had no choice but to leave the NHS because of his frustrations at standard of care treatment options for in oncology. He explains how some off-label and repurposed medicines can augment treatment and improve outcomes. Mark Sean Taylor, diagnosed his own very early-stage pancreatic cancer when the doctors couldn’t find out what was wrong with him. What happened next is an extraordinary survivor’s story. Dr Datis Kharrazian, discusses the latest information of brain inflammation and brain endurance – what is not being talked about; and Randox Principal Scientist Katie Coyle, appears in a bonus episode exploring diagnostics, women achieving their potential in science and her own health journey.

The series deliberately enters areas where health conversations can become confusing, polarised or oversimplified. Julia’s role throughout is to ask the questions, challenge assumptions and give listeners access to the thinking of people working directly in these fields.

In partnership with Randox Health, The Julia Bradbury Podcast has been produced in partnership with Randox Health and filmed at the Integrative & Personalised Medicine Conference 2026.

David Ferguson, Chief Operating Officer at Randox Health said: “Julia has a rare ability to make complex health conversations accessible and to ask the questions people genuinely want answered. Her curiosity about what is happening inside the body before symptoms appear closely aligns with our belief in helping people better understand and take control of their health. Through advanced blood testing and predictive health insights, we help people identify potential risks and imbalances earlier. We’re delighted to partner with Julia on a series that makes important health conversations more accessible and encourages people to take a more proactive approach to their wellbeing.”

Episodes One and Two of The Julia Bradbury Podcast launch on 23 September 2026, with new episodes released weekly. The podcast will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
